As temperatures reverse, so does your skin’s moisture. As the weather gets colder and humidity falls, our skin can become drier and more easily irritated, even flaky and itchy. All of the body will be affected, not just the face. We have to constantly fight back against the parched, flaky, itchy season. Winter body care is hence really important. Today I am talking about a body lotion that I have been using to fight dryness.

Some winter skincare tips that you should follow

5 quick tips:

  1. Avoid taking long, hot baths and showers. { now, most of you out there would be thinking- “What’s the big deal” – “While you might think it’s hydrating, water topically can have a drying effect on your epidermis. In fact, the more water that hits your skin, the more it breaks down the complex layer of naturally occurring lipids between and on top of your skin cells. Overbathing or overshowering will make dry skin even drier, so make sure you moisturize immediately afterward. }
  2. Rub in body creams when you step out of the shower, immediately after towel drying. Even the humidity in the bathroom will help attract moisture into the skin.
  3. Exfoliate your face and body twice a week to help skin soak up maximum moisture. { Exfoliating the body twice is a week is very important..I know everyone does exfoliate face…Exfoliate body too…Especially, if you are more into shaving the body hair than waxing…Exfoliation prevents in grown hair growth }
  4. If your skin feels tight and dry 30 minutes or so after moisturizing, you need to switch to something richer and more hydrating. { This is also an indication that your current body moisturizer is not hydrating enough – Time to switch to a more richer moisturizer }
  5. If your skin feels itchy, avoid using soap and stick to a gentle body wash. { By gentle , I mean a body wash with no harmful chemicals, avoid using the ones that can make your skin even more dry. Do a check on ingredient list before shelling out your money }

Now, I wouldn’t write this as a 6th tip – But its the key – DRINK LOTS OF FRESH JUICES AND WATER.

More Pictures & my experience using this body lotion

I use this lotion during day time and use a body cream from the same range during night. This lotion smells so good, The neroli & rosewood combination is really soothing. Right after shower & gentle towel drying, I apply this lotion onto my body. It spreads and  absorbs quickly..Leave the area really hydrated and moisturized. I reapply this after  hours or so during the day. I don’t have extremely dry areas on my body skin…If you are someone who just need a little moisture boost for the body area- You can go for this one. if you need little more I would suggest you to buy the cream from the same brand. i am in love with this lotion and I am already on half way. I would repurchase this in other fragrances.

Overall, a great day time lotion that soothes and moisturize the skin. Formulated from the finest plant and nut oils it is rich in vitamins and botanical extracts. Neroli & Rosewood is absolutely soothing on body and I love how fresh my skin feels even after hours of application. You can use this as a day lotion if you have a normal body skin and only need a light duty lotion to hydrate the body area…This can be also used a day time lotion during summers too. On the other hand, if your body is on a drier side with dry patches/flakes / if you need that extra moisture boost, I would suggest you to go for the body cream from the same brand.
