Hi lovely ladies out there- First of all let me confess, I would be the last person in this universe to review this foundation from L’Oreal Paris. Better late than never…This is a product that I always wanted to try. Because of my continuous travels and vacation I couldn’t try these ones and finally when I go time to check it at store- The shades I wanted where out of stock everywhere.

I got super excited when the kind Loreal Paris NZ team asked me to review these beauties. I decided to ask for 3 shades that I thought would be a closer match to my skintone. For Shade reference – I am NC40 in M.A.C .
I selected the shades – Rose Beige, Pure Beige & Nude Beige. Out of the 6 shades available in NZ, All 3 shades that I picked up [ 190Rose Beige, 140Pure Beige, 150Nude Beige] have yellow undertones and hence they are a perfect match for warmer skintones like mine. To know what are my thoughts on L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint Foundation, Keep reading…..IMG_3235

Comes in a frost glass bottle with a screw top lid. The color of the lid and the description on the front of the bottle comes in a chrome/lavender color which is beautiful altogether.  On top of the lid- shade number and name is mentioned. and on the back side of the bottle – It gives the description of the product.

It comes with SPF18 too I love it…Looks so sleek and nice. However, as its made of glass- one has to be extremely careful about travelling with it. I personally prefer foundations that comes with a pump dispenser or in a tube packaging. One problem I face about this packaging is -I have no control of how much product will come out each time I try to use it. Chances of product getting wasted are more. As it don’t have a stopper or pump to dispense the product. after each usage. one has to clean the bottle neck always as the product tends to settle there while dispensing.

Swatches and my experience using this foundation
First of all start by shaking the foundation really well and take desired amount of foundation. First thing that you notice is that the consistency of the foundation is very very runny. I use a Zoeva buffer brush to apply this foundation. L’oreal recommend to use hands. however, as I get sudden acne breakouts – I prefer using brushes or sponge.

Texture & Formula – This foundation is very light weight on skin and I use my Zoeva buffer brush to apply this. It blends effortlessly on skin and feels very smooth while blending it onto the skin. It gives a silky smooth finish to the face. It does tend to cling on dry areas of my face. For testing the longevity – I skipped applying my primer. So, I think it’s not really ok for someone who has dry patches/ areas on their face unless they moisturise the dry areas of face really well using a good primer. I think this foundation is best for people with combination-oily skin.

Coverage – Coverage is excellent. It goes on very light and two layers of foundation really makes my face L’Oreal claims that it is a weightless formula. On the skin it initially feels like a very light and soft before quickly settling to an almost velvet finish that is naturally matte and gives the impression that the skin has been set with a powder. This foundation may not be good enough to cover everything on its own and you might have a lot of concealing to do unless you have a super perfect skin. For me , the problematic area is around my eyes – So I used a separate concealer for my dark circles. There is no need to set the foundation or anything.

Longevity – Lasting power is pretty impressive. I tested it during the winter months and it almost lasted upto 7-8 hours with little bit of fading around my cheek area.

Photographs – As it has spf18 to it – It’s anyways not ideal for flash photography. It’s a great day foundation.

Overall, A perfect everyday wear foundation. Suited best to combination – oily skin. What I not like about this is – It made the dry areas of my face patchy after applying foundation onto those areas..When I apply a good primer underneath this – foundation ; dry areas were normal. no patchiness etc. Packaging can be messy as it’s made of glass. Also, the consistency is runny and one has to be really careful while dispensing the desired amount of foundation. This foundation settles beautiful to a velvety matte finish that lasts up to 7-8 hours. Coverage is buildable. Even if  it’s buildable. I tried applying 2-3 layers – foundation didn’t look cakey on my face. If you have any acne marks, blemishes or dark circles etc to cover up – You need a separate concealer in addition to this.
