I am really really impressed with the pigmentation. It’s almost like a matte cherry red lipstick. First thing to notice about this product is – it’s a mix of butters and oils that helps moisturise and soften the lips. Lush also included a range of ingredients to give this lip tint a fragrance; natural smell from cherry and date extracts, lime oil for a citrusy feel and cinnamon which adds that spicy Christmassy scent.
The consistency of Santa Baby is very sticky. Feels heavy on lips. It’s not as oily as a traditional lip balm, meaning it stays on your lips rather than melting away over time like a lip balm. However, it is rather heavy than what I thought…It’s consistency is almost like a matte lipstick. As it’s highly pigmented. Be careful with the application. Use a cotton bud or lip brush to define the lip shape first and then fill it in using a lip brush. This way you can have better control on application and avoids stains on your mouth area.
Next thing I notice is- it does stain your fingers…After swatching this- I had to remove it using a cleansing balm makeup remover. Normal micellar water didn’t take it off completely. Applying this using fingers is not a good idea. Use a lip brush instead. Now, you must have got an idea on how amazingly pigmented this is. It stayed on my lips for about more than 8 hours! very very impressed with this!
I can say that this is such a great value for money. Santa Baby is a very festive product and is one of the most popular red shade that people wear on their lips for parties all year around. Priced at NZD $11.90, this product will last you for a long time.
