Festive makeup Look – Featuring MAC Magic of the Night Collection

Hi beautiful girls out there…Holiday season is coming soon!! Christmas is my most favorite time around the whole year. All brands are coming up with exclusive gift sets/collections for this festive season. I was lucky to receive this new holiday collection from MAC. All thanks to MAC NZ PR 🙂

In today’s post, I am reviewing these two products and I am also sharing a makeup look that I created using these two products above and few other products from other brands + MAC. Full makeup breakdown at the end of the post.

Colourdrenched Pigment- Ascent of Glamour, Cobalt violet-blue (frost) | NZD $52.00

It’s a pressed pigment eye shadow. Ascent of Glamour is described as a “cobalt violet-blue.” I would say a purple with cool undertones and a frost finish. It’s highly pigmented and can be used both wet/dry. The texture is dense, while touching You will find them to be a little stiff, On applying, you almost feel you are applying a cream eye shadow.  It was easy to blend and pat the color. In terms of staying power- It stayed on my lids for about 7 hours after which it starts to fade. I love the color and how beautiful it looks. It can also be used as a eyeliner using a slightly wet angled brush. I love the shade. I paired it with a matte black to create the eye look for my FOTD.

Lipstick Dark Side, deep burgundy (amplified) – NZD $44.00

‘Dark Side’ lipstick is a very pretty shade. I already own this in permanent packaging. Pictured below next to the new one. My niece once opened it and closed without twisting the lipstick back to bullet. So, I was using the one I had using a lip brush. Now,  I can happily put that to my “Back to MAC bag” 🙂 Thank You MAC NZ for giving me this shade in this limited edition packaging! I love purples and I love how this bullet looks. It’s a shiny metallic bullet. 

‘Dark Side’ lipstick is a deep cool-toned burgundy shade with an amplified creme finish.  It’s completely opaque and has creamy texture. It just glide onto your lips. So easy to apply and it’s highly pigmented as well. I usually get about 5-6 hours of wear from MAC amplified formulas. This one lasted more than that (about 7-8 hours which is amazing! it fades off leaving a berry tint to your lips. This is a must buy shade for me. I love deep shades. This shade would be perfect for fall. 

Now, coming onto FOTDs 🙂 I really loved how the makeup turned out. I am so in love with this look. The mouse I am holding is so giving me that Christmas vibe… It’s from Smith & Caugheys.

I hope you all like the pictures and looks I created. I didn’t extend the color much to my lower lash line. I think it won’t suit me much. So, I only applied liner slightly on my lower lash line.
