My views on the Bourjois Happy Light Foundation:

Today I am reviewing my ‘on the go’ lovely foundation from the brand Bourjois for all of you here. I already had tried previously shade 54 in the same foundation but somehow that didn’t suit my skin tone and made me look darker than what I actually am after some time of application. I had to sell if off but I knew very well that I am going to pick the same foundation again this time in a lighter shade that suits me well.

Shade: Shade 52 is an exact match to my skin tone that upon application adds the natural glow hiding all the minor imperfection on my face. This shade would easily suit NC 35-37 with neutral to light yellow undertones. I am mostly picking this foundation whenever I am looking for a healthy coverage (without looking cakey) and which looks absolutely natural in pictures too.

Coverage: The foundation has a medium coverage and hides all blemishes, pigmentation and light scars on the skin easily, still looks quite natural. The foundation gives a slight dewy look and not completely matte on my dry skin. I have tried it during flash photography and my face doesn’t look made-up in any way. The consistency is light and liquid sorts (not thick or creamy) that blend nicely using your fingers or a foundation/buffing brush even without using a proper primer before.

You can layer it up if need arises but better use a concealer if you are looking for hiding some tough scars which this foundation won’t do for you.

Staying Power: The foundation without a primer underneath stay on for 6 hours on me in this hot weather. During winters, it stayed on for 8 hours easily. Though I could skip setting it with a compact previously, but as the temperature is rising, I feel my T-zone getting slightly oily soon so I do find a need to set the foundation with a compact or loose powder later. It is water resistant and won’t run down by sweat or water any time.

Packaging: The Happy Light foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The orange colored pump is covered with a plastic cap itself to keep the opening safe. The pump dispenser works well ad usually 2 pumps are more than enough for covering the face and neck region quite well. Overall the packaging is pretty nice, but yes, be careful while handling the glass bottle.
