Doutzen’s Nude (Hint of Pink by Doutzen Kroes)
Color: A very light baby pink with a micro shimmers
Formulation: Formula is moisturising on lips. Doutzen’s Nude is a very sheer lipstick perfect for pale skin and non pigmented lips. The color glides on smoothly. Smells wonderful. But for girls like me with darker lip color, Doutzen’s Nude is not at all great and emphasize lines on the lips and also staying power is not that impressive- upto 2 hours or so. See my lip swatch below. (For reference I have NC 40 skin tone). Only buy this shade if you have a pale skin. This is not great for warmer skintones (NC40 and above)IMG_4269

Julianne’s Nude (Rosewood beige by Julianne Moore)
Color: pink with a sheen
Formulation: Julianne’s Nude is more of  pink than a nude. This is also on the sheer side, But it looks good  on lips. I wish these lipsticks are a little more pigmented . These glides on easily. I did multiple swipes on my pigmented lips to get a nice pink color. Though the formula is moisturising I didn’t find these great.IMG_4278

Freida’s Nude (Mauve Tint by Freida Pinto)
Color: mauve nude with a pearl sheen
Formulation: Freida’s Nude has a lot of micro-shimmers that give the shade a very frosty finish. Despite being  frost, the formulation feels smooth and creamy. Glides nicely on lips. This cool shade works well for those with pink undertones to their skin. For warmer skin tones like mine- I feel its not that great either…

Overall, I loved the design of the lipsticks but the formulation of the shades fell a little below my expectation. The lighter shades are not that great on warmer skintones (NC40 and above) and often accentuate fine lines of lips. Formulation of all 3 is creamy. Freida’s Mauve Tint has a frost finish. These shades have sheer coverage in general & for a medium coverage, one can layer the shade with 6-7 swipes straight from the tube. Staying power is upto 3 hours or so. Also, these lipsticks have a fruity scent that isn’t noticeable after some 10 seconds of application. If you are looking for a  full coverage nude lipstick, these aren’t for you.

Availability : Priced at $NZD 23.99 , Colour Riche collection exclusive lipsticks are available from Farmers, selected pharmacies and department stores from September 2015 for a limited time only.

Which is your favorite out of these? Are you planning to buy any of these ?

Hi Renji,
Your pics make me say WoW everytime I read your post… Please share the secret of taking such brilliant pictures… I loved your honest review… These lipsticks are not for me because these kind of colours look too frosty on me and make me look so washed out…

Thanks a lot Ritu 🙂 I just casually take pics like that 🙂 I don’t have a DSLR. I use my canon 301IS 🙂 its lovely for taking good pics in daylight…Yeah..these are not that great for me too…I prefer pigmented nude lipsticks that has good staying power…but, these are great for ppl with paler skintones…
