Shimmer Illuminators were quite a rage this year. I think Cover FX is one of the brand which came up with its iconic illuminators and from there everyone copied and created their own versions of highlighters and illuminators. Having tried a drop highlighter from Cover FX, I was quite excited to see this value set at ULTA. That too for a steal sale price of $12.50 ; It’s infact a $34.00 value being sold for $25.00. I got a really good bargain considering its price.

COVERFX Glam & Glow Shimmer Veil Trio of Shimmer can be used on face, lips and eyes to create that sparkle and a crease-proof shimmering finish.

This trio contains mini (read deluxe size) Shimmer Veils in shades Celestial, Soleil, and Moonstone.

Packaging is pretty good. It’s a acrylic wand with a sponge applicator. Packaging similar to liquid eyeshadows or lip glosses/liquid lipsticks. You get Size: 3 x 1.6 ml / 0.05 fl oz each

Use Shimmer Veil on the eyes and beyond for crease-proof sparkle. Use each shade alone, layered together, and in addition to any eye look for a high-impact shimmer effect.

My favorite use out of these are while drawing cut creases. it gives such a beautiful and neat application. You can also apply it as liquid eye shadow or as a highlighter/ topper itself. I am quite surprised to see that the formula doesn’t crease, move or feel heavy. I also like its application wand that has a pointed tip which allows precise application. For eg – The inner corner highlight, lash line etc. It’s super easy to use and I think it’s a very versatile product.

Formula applies smoothly without any cracks or streaks. It dries pretty quick. Formula doesn’t fade off when blending etc.  It’s wonderful and it’s nicely pigmented as well. Also, it feels very light weight even though you layer the product. Can be worn for both day as well as night looks. Staying power is great too.

Overall, it’s a good gift set. Perfect stocking stuffer under $15 and also a multi-use product. It has got a decent color pay-off ; though not as much as stila liquid eyeshadows. For the price you pay – this does a decent job. I like the shade ‘celestial’ the most. The shimmery touch to the shades look beautiful. Though its a shimmery illuminator, The glitters/shimmers on the actual product is very fine and I didn’t notice any chunky glitter/sparkle feel which is amazing. Celestial looks wonderful on lids & as a highlighter. Soleil is perfect to be applied on the cheeks and all three shades can be used as lip toppers too. Cover FX Shimmer Veil’s have a weightless creme texture, shimmery crease-proof formula- perfect for eye looks as well as shimmering effect anywhere on the face.
