My take on the L’Oreal Infallible lipstick ‘Always Apricot’:
Here is my review on the newly launched L’Oreal Infallible lipstick. Let us see is it worth paying 999/- for it ;).

Shade: Always Apricot is a true, bright and ‘into-your-face’ kind of orange color. It is definitely a party wear sort of shade and if you are not into bright orange lip shades, then a better option is to apply it as a stain for daily wear. The color would look good on fair to medium skin tones very well. It may look a bit too bright for dark skin tones.

Texture: The Infallible lipstick is quite smooth and applied evenly. The pigmentation is great and a single swipe is enough for showing up the true color. The lipstick is hydrating too that is a plus in this winter season. The shade does not bleed or feather although being creamy.
It leaves a shiny finish on the lips so no lip gloss is needed later on. The shade being creamy does transfer initially but after an hour or so I have not seen the lipstick stains on the cups or glasses which is again a plus point here.

Longevity: The Infallible ‘Always Apricot’ gives a good 6 hours of staying power with light meals in between. It can survive a full meal to a good extent too leaving a deep orange tint on the lips. But the shade tends to settle in fine lines once it fades and can accentuate the areas of the lips. I myself would prefer to exfoliate the lips first to avoid this con.

Packaging: The combination of black and orange in the case looks pretty. The lipstick comes housed in a black plastic case with a tight fitted transparent cap of similar color as the lipstick itself. I haven’t seen any melting of the bullet still.

Pros:

  • A bright orange color
  • Moisturizing texture
  • Applies smoothly and evenly
  • Highly pigmented.
  • Good staying power
  • Comes in a nice bright packaging.
  • Color leaves a stain which looks pretty too.
  • Color eliminates the need of applying a gloss later.
  • The stain doesn’t transfer much

Cons:

  • Comes with a hefty price tag.
  • It tends to accentuate the dry lip areas while fading that doesn’t look good.
  • Shade in full effect may not suit dark skin tones

Ratings: 4.5/5

Finally I would definitely recommend this lipstick to everyone who are fond of bold and bright shades. The hydrating nature with a good staying power is added bonus here.
