“Do what makes you oh so happy….I am happy-go-lucky”…yes probably this is first time that I am feeling myself  lucky as I am able to grab a lipstick that is still waiting to get launched in India. So, those who are eyeing on this collection this post is dedicated to all of them…read on to know whether happy go lucky is really worth to be lucky shade in your vanity…

What does MAC says about Playland Collection
M∙A∙C Playland, a funtastical wonderland of enchantment and delight. Luscious shades of Lipstick and Lipglass liven lips in playful pinks, brilliant purples and bright corals. Tease and toy around with a carousel of Casual Colour pots in neon orange and hot pink, to stand out bright as balloons in a blue spring sky. Pigments and Chromagraphic Pencil add a cotton-candy cascade of colour to this season’s stylish, fun-packed fantasy.

Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.

Price: – $16 dollar probably it will be Rs.1190/- in India (fingers crossed for that).

My opinion about MAC Playland Collection – Happy-Go-Lucky
Mac cosmetics already released it’s much waiting “playland collection” in abroad whereas it is still waiting to get launched in India. The collection consists of the following:-

Red Balloon – hot fuchsia (amplified)

Happy-Go-Lucky – hot pink (amplified)

Toying Around – hot coral pink (amplified)

Sweet Experience – bright pink (amplified)

Playland – frost yellow gold (frost)

Head in the Clouds – red with pearlized pigments (frost)

Among these I grabbed three beautiful shades….which are happy-go-lucky, toying around and red balloon. And among these three today I am going to share my experience with “happy-go-lucky”. Whenever MAC comes up with limited edition collections, It has been proved that it has the capacity to make all the makeup lovers around the world to go crazy about it and MAC Playland collection is no exception. it is a collection of bright pinks and corals. Comes in a regular packaging  along with the signature vanilla scent.  And  I thank MAC for making the packaging regular as paying extra for the packaging really sometimes make hole in pocket. So I guess as the packaging is regular so these lipsticks will be available at regular prices.

The shade happy –go-lucky is a amplified finish. The shade is described by the MAC as “hot pink”. The texture is same with the regular amplified finish. The lipstick has a glossy finish but no shimmer. I found the shade is pretty dupable in MAC but in other finish mostly. The lipstick easily glides on lips like butter and of course needless to say no tugging or pulling of lips during applying the lipstick. The staying power of the lipstick is just as the regular amplified ones. It stays nearly 5 hours with slightly fading after heavy meal. The amplified finish lipsticks are always great for me in winters but in summers I personally feel they bleed a little but that depends how you apply the lipstick. The lipstick do leaves an uneven pink stain on lips after fading which I found a bit tough for me to remove. The shade although describe as hot pink but it is a nice Barbie pink on my skin tone that really doesn’t smack on my face being over bright pink. I really love the lipstick as it is creamy that doesn’t makes lips dry and have opaque formula.

How it looks on me

  • Bright shade, perfect for bright shades lovers.
  • Opaque formula.
  • Stays pretty 5 hours.
  • Survive heavy meal with little bit of fading.
  • Doesn’t dry your lips.

  • It is still waiting to get launched but as the numbers of limited edition shades are few so might get out of stock pretty soon.
  • Leaves an uneven stain on lips after fading which is difficult to remove.
  • The shade although describe as hot pink but it is a nice Barbie pink which is easily dupable.

My rating:  4/5

If you really like the shade then just keep your eyes on its launching date in India and if you can’t grab it then don’t be sad as the shade is pretty dupable ….like mac pink pigeon and mac candy yum yum are pretty close to this shade but they are just differ in finish so if you want you can really skip this particular lipstick.  But as I told you earlier that I love the lipstick despite of all the cons and the dupe options as first of all it really suit my skin tone and yes it is limited edition 9 all thanks to Shivani,  my friend for grabbing it for me) and I got it before it launched in India so I am feeling happy being lucky… 😛
