Turmeric is the oldest and most popular Ayurvedic treatment that is still used in the 21st century. It is widely used in Indian households for its medicinal purposes and beauty treatments. Well known for its amazing properties of anti- inflammatory and antioxidant. But now, its use is not only limited to spices for food and rituals.

Not only in Eastern Asia but even Western countries are understanding its benefits and started including this in cosmetics. The active ingredient that is curcumin found in turmeric contains a high level of antioxidants because it works to fade acne, dark spots, pigmentation and wrinkles as well. Today, I would be sharing some easy and effective ways to add turmeric to your skincare routine.

Note:- Turmeric can be allergic or irritate the skin to many even being a natural ingredient. So, always do a patch test before using it as a DIY or beauty product.

1. DIY Turmeric Mask

This is a basic and simple turmeric mask that makes your skin glowing. Gram flour and raw milk/yogurt provide glowing and hydrating skin.

  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp of gram flour
  • 1 tbsp of raw milk or yogurt

Make a paste of all the above ingredients well in a clean bowl. Apply an even layer on your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Then wash off and pat dry. Apply this face pack once a week for dewy and healthy skin.

2. DIY Face scrub

Turmeric exfoliates the skin very well and makes it glowing and clear. Due to almonds, it works wonderfully for exfoliating the skin.

  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp of coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp of ground almond

Mix all the above ingredients well in a bowl and make a thick paste. Apply it to your face and leave it for only 5-10 minutes. Then moist your face and scrub gently in a circular motion to remove it. Then wash off and pat dry. Try this once a week.

3. Glowing Turmeric Mask

This face pack works great for dull and damaged skin. It makes your skin glowing and soft. A banana makes your skin clear and glowing as well. Honey is a gem we all know.

  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 tbsp of mashed banana

Make a thick paste of all the above listed ingredients. Apply an even layer of this paste to your face. Let it on your face for 15 minutes and wash it off with tap running water. Then pat dry.

4. Anti-aging mask

Turmeric also reduces the anti-aging signs and makes it youthful. A tomato really helps in anti-aging treatment.

  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp of tomato paste
  • ½ teaspoon of coconut oil

Mix the above ingredients to make a thick even paste. Let it to your face for 15 minutes and wash it off with tap running water. Pat dry. Use it once a week.

5. Anti-acne turmeric mask

Turmeric is really beneficial for removing acne and infection. It helps to heal the wounds. Aloe vera gel makes this face pack more wonderful.

  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • Tbsp of aloe vera gel

Mix both the above ingredients well and apply them to your face for glowing and hydrating skin. Let it be for 15 minutes at that point wash off with tap running water. Pat dry. Try this once a week.

6. Anti-inflammatory turmeric face pack

For those who are suffering from inflammation and skin concerns like redness, irritation then it can help you.

  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp of coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp of honey

Mix all the above ingredients well in a bowl and make a thick paste. Apply it on your face for 15 minutes. Then wash it off with tap running water. Pat dry. Use this once a week for inflammation concerns.

7. Hydrating Turmeric mask

Turmeric and egg yolk mask hydrates your skin and brightens the skin as well.

  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil

Mix all the above listed ingredients in a bowl and make a thick paste. Apply it all over for 15 minutes and afterwards wash it off with ordinary water. Pat dry. Use this once a week for dehydrated skin.

8. Brightening Turmeric Mask

Turmeric is a boon for skin brightening. This face pack brightens the skin and makes it glowing. Honey and milk brighten up the skin as well and makes it soft.

  • ¼ teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of milk

Mix all the above ingredients in a given proportion. Leave the mixture all over for 15 minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water. Pat dry. Use this once a week to brighten up your skin.

Note:- Turmeric stains on the skin easily so wash it thoroughly and always use it in a little proportion. Or, use a milk-soaked cotton ball to remove the stained area instantly.
