Makeup Setting sprays have been in the market since a while. In this review I am going to share my experience using MAC Studio Fix + or MAC Prep & Prime Fix. MAc describes Fix+ as a lightweight mist of water packed with vitamins and minerals, infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile and cucumber to gently soothe and refresh the skin. Gives an instant boost of hydration while delivering a soft sheen to refresh and finish makeup. Read more to find out whether its worth buying.

My experience using this setting mist

About the formula – simple, alcohol-free toner for normal to dry or slightly oily skin that contains a nice mix of antioxidants (green tea, chamomile and cucumber) and anti-irritants

Contains Fragrance – but very slight amount – less noticeable once you spray on

Fix+ settles on skin, giving you more control where you’re applying product. Now, there are a 100 different ways to use this product. Can be used alone as a refreshing mist or  to set your makeup etc. I use it in many different ways. I am quoting one by one.

Method 1 : I spray this mist onto my beauty blender/ makeup brush while applying foundation. This way it blends in and make the product really long lasting and it really refreshes my skin. The base makeup applies smoothly this way and it helps in controlling shine on my face. Especially, T-Zone area where it tends to get oily/shiny. Love this method the most. Spraying the Fix + onto makeup brush or beauty blender or sponge prevent “wastage” of your foundation due to sponge/brush absorption.

Method 2 : I spray it all over my face after I am done with my makeup. This ensures that my skin and my  make up stay fresh all day without any fading or creasing.

Method 3 : I spray it all over my face before applying makeup. wait for few minutes and then start my makeup. My makeup goes on smoothly without a primer and it doesn’t make my face dry at all.

Method 4 : Using to wet my brush before picking eyeshadow/ pigments. it gives more intensity to the color

Overall, it absorbs faster and hydrates the skin really well. Makeup lasts longer ! This wonderful setting mist helps in giving a smooth, even finish to your makeup, blends the powder products/liquid products to give a non-cakey/non powdery look. really well and avoid face getting oily or shiny. A simple, alcohol-free toner for normal to dry or slightly oily skin that contains a nice mix of antioxidants (green tea, chamomile and cucumber) and anti-irritants

MAC had launched this in five limited-edition formulations to Fix + – Lavender, Yuzu,  Cucumber, Rose and Coconut. I wish these formulations were permanent. @MACCosmetics – Are you listening?

Have you tried this setting mist from MAC ? Which is your favorite makeup setting mist/spray?

Renji we think alike. I use my setting spray with the makeup makeup sponge too. N the eye shadow trick too, when I feel lazy to take out my Inglot Duraline.
Awesome post 🙂

I love setting sprays but I never tried Fix+! I’ve always been on the fence about it, but after reading your post I might get it!
