Finishing Powders/Pressed Powders are a essential makeup item for setting-in your makeup and prevent your foundation, concealer & cream blushers/bronzers from fading throughout the day. It has to layer well, gives an even coverage and keep your face shine-free for a long time. I prefer transparent powders and this one interested me the moment I saw it. Sheer finishing powders works the best for setting your makeup and for those like me who don’t like additional coverage which might make the foundation/base makeup look heavy.

M·A·C X CHRIS CHANG PREP + PRIME TRANSPARENT FINISHING PRESSED POWDER  is a silky, colourless finishing powder for all skin tones that reduces shine. Wear over makeup or on its own. Available in a pressed compact for portability. Features uniquely designed packaging.

You might have read about theMAC x Chris Chang Cream Color Bases  & two of the lipsticks already.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the wonderful packaging? This collection is a mix of mind-blowing patterns , flowers, figures, wildlife . Some part of the outer packaging are in focus, some with blurry edges. It will make you think your eyes are playing/you being hallucinated… hahah 🙂 This collection is described as hallucinogenic, crazy – I would say the maddest art packaging I’ve seen in a MAC collection – and I must admit, I crazily love it! This is one of those collections which tempted me to get every single variant from them. I still remember that night when I logged in US timing and placed order for some of the gorgeous pieces in this range.

Take a look at how gorgeous it looks!

My thoughts about this – DID IT WORK ON ME ?

Shade, Pigmentation – This is described as a silky, colourless finishing powder that reduces shine. Now, the question is how good it is. How it worked for me – The texture is not powdery. The color on pan looks whiter, this powder is colourless when applied. For the swatch- I had to scratch it and put some to my hand.

Unfortunately, this Prep/Prime Finishing Powder did nothing for me. It didn’t blur out anything and wasn’t particularly mattifying too. In short – It’s only the packaging that makes it wow. It’s not worth the hype. I didn’t like it at all. As a finishing powder it did nothing to prolong the longevity of my makeup. Also It was super difficult to pick the product using the brush. I had to scratch some portion to get the product out. I found it extremely chalky as well..

Overall, I am not impressed at all. If you are planning to get this / if you landed up on my page to check the review of this – my advice to you is – Never buy this. unless you do for just the packaging, hahah 🙂 I know most of us do that! It also broke me out very badly after using it. I have a sensitive skin. I don’t know if any particular ingredient didn’t suit me. You can try your luck. Do let me know if you liked it.

yeah….that’s correct…. but again – the same quote goes…outside appearance doesn’t matter…. quality is what matters….I honestly had high hopes of this… Even saw some of the world’s best beauty bloggers raving about this…Unfortunately, it’s not suiting me…

The packaging is soooo cool. What a disappointment that it doesnt quite do much for the makeup though!
