Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser | Review

Everyone knows the importance of cleansing the face twice or thrice a day. Night time cleansing prevents skin dehydration and day time cleansing prevents excess oil production.

Especially for girls like me who wear makeup, cleansing is no joke. At the end of the day, Even though we remove the makeup using a makeup wipe or makeup remover. It’s very important to cleanse the face using a gentle balancing cleanser and apply a moisturizer day as well as night

You must have read how I changed my skincare routine here. In this post I am talking about my favorite day & night cleanser.

Manuka Doctor ApiClear Purifying Facial Peel | Review

The winter season brings in not only the frosty weather but also dull, dry and dehydrated skin. With evenings often spent rugged up in the warm indoors, skin can easily lose moisture, leading to dryness and noticeably uneven skin tone. At-Home facial peels are a great way to take care of your skin without having to visit a spa. In the past  I have used a few facial peel products from some Indian drugstore brands and from Oriflame. But, I never found them to be suepr good on my skin. Plus some of them were very difficult to even peel of after it dries leaving my skin irritated or red.

Facial peels remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells of your face, leaving a smoother, radiant looking face. A good facial peel help minimize the pores and diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Similarly a bad facial peel product can irritate the skin as well.

In this review I am going to share my favorite facial peel product. This is from a brand called Manuka Doctor. Manuka Doctor is a well known skincare brand that uses some of the finest, unique ingredients for its products; hero ingredeints being “Manuka Honey” and “Purified Bee Venom“.

This product here, really attracted me as it has acne healing properties. When Manuka Doctor PR sent me this facial peel. I was excited to try this as I heard a lot of good things about purified bee venom products for the treatment of acne. Purified Bee Venom has multiple anti ageing properties such as cell regeneration, renewal of damaged skin cells, scar reduction, reduction of fine lines & wrinkles etc. It also has known benefits of treating and healing acne.  though its not advised to be used on broken skin.

Note –This product is not advised for people who are allergic to bee stings.IMG_4193 (more…)

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil | Review

Ever wondered how is “Rosehip Oil” made?  Rosehip oil is derived from roses. Manufacturers press and extract the oil from wild rose bushes and then add the oil to skin care products or sell it by itself. The oil is a fabulous component of your skin care routine because it is full of beauty-boosting vitamin A, vitamin C and the essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6.

Rosehip oil has a number of  beauty benefits for the skin, hair and nails. Unlike natural shea oil or cocoa butter,  Rosehip oil tends to absorb quickly  on skin providing a mess-free application. If you add rosehip oil to your skin care routine, you can expect some miraculous results. Rosehip Oil skincare benefits include pigmentation reduction, improved compelxion, skin rejuvenation etc.

I first heard about “Rosehip Oil” from my friend Nishu of Lips N Berries blog. She rave so much about the benefits of rosehip oil and she have a gorgeous skin..touchwood…Thanks to the Trilogy Team and Bare PR to send me this miraculous product, Certified Organic Rosehip Oil.  4 weeks back from this date, my skin looked terrible with lot of breakouts. I honestly don’t know why my skin was in such a bad condition. That’s when trilogy came to rescue. I decided to use all trilogy products for my skincare. You can read my full skincare routine here

Manuka Doctor Brightening Facial Oil

Essential oils that are used in the skincare products help combat different skin conditions/problems mainly  acne, dark spots, blemishes, pigmentation marks, fine lines &wrinkles etc. Facial Oils are always a huge hit in the market. Especially, the fact that its very light weight and does the same job that a serum does. Serums are super expensive and not every one can afford it. Facial oils with the goodness of certain essential oils such as rosehip, avocado etc does the job of a serum and is so reasonably priced so that everyone can afford to buy it. Regular use of the facial oils help lighten and brighten the skin tone. Manuka Doctor was kind enough to give me two facial oils for review. One is reviewed by my guest writer – Navya here. Today, in this post, I shall be quoting my friend’s feed back on using this brightening oil from Manuka Doctor. This oil is made from a blend of argan, rosehip, Manuka and avocado oils which all help to regenerate and nourish your skin whilst keeping the skin young, fresh and bright.

Manuka Doctor Replenishing Facial Oil

Guest post by : Navya

Slathering oil all over your face sounds a little scary even if you have extremely dry skin. I definitely don’t want to make my face look like an oil factory by applying oil. I am from a place where Everyone uses Extra virgin coconut oil  & its products for skincare. Ever since my childhood I have been using oil on my hair, my skin etc. i always wanted to try a different oil. Sometimes I wonder, How to even find a oil that doesn’t make your face look greasy. That’s when my dearest renji send me this bottle of gorgeousness and I decided to give this a try. Here I am exactly after 3 weeks of using it to give my honest opinion on it. Before we start – Let me give a little intro about my skin, my skin concerns etc. I have a dry skin with little acne on my cheek area. nothing major, Just like many of you girls who get occasional breakouts – So am I. My skin concerns are- I have a super sensitive skin. I don’t wear makeup on a regular basis. I am also lazy when it comes to skincare. I stay in a college hostel in the Shimla which has a harsh cold climate all the time.

Now, at least some of you guys might ask this – Million dollar question – Why a face oil ? A good face oil actually make your skin super soft and glowy, non-greasy. Some even help fight acne (seriously yes!). The trick is knowing when to use them—and finding the right one for your skin type. Having said these, Lets move on to the review..

#trilogylove – Starting a new skincare routine….

Why is it important to have a personalized skincare routine. These days the ‘no-makeup’ look is a trend. What makes this look so great is that- it requires just minimal amount of products and most products are multipurpose. When it comes to skincare its not the case. You can’t go for the ‘one product – fits all approach’ here.

With multiple raining  products in the market, all much raved about products to treat various skin conditions/problems, it can be tempting just to use whatever products your friends/your favorite beauty gurus/bloggers are using or what products are the show-stopper ‘ultimate product at the moment’. While these might work well for certain people, there’s no guarantee they will work for you. Sometimes, you’ll just end up paying for a product that does nothing for you, but the worst case scenario could be that the product makes your skin worse, irritates it or even causes more problems.

In this post,  I am going to talk about my current skin care routine. What  I was using in the past, Why I am changing my skincare routine. What drove me to think about a change in my skincare routine etc. Tarte Maracuja oil is a much raved about product in the market. I also bought it – Read about my US haul here & here. Now, I was using Yves Rocher & Za & jergens products since more than 2 years along with different skincare masks like, korean sheet masks, face shop sheet masks, Gia bath & body and Juicy chemistry facial cleansers/scrubs/masks. My skin was pretty much clear and balanced because of the products that suited my skin a lot. However, When I moved to NZ, and when I emptied my Yves Rocher products, I couldn’t find any source to buy it. I decided to start a different skincare product. I know that all of the masks I use suited my skin a lot. Most of them where re-re purchases and I swear by those products. Now, you might be thinking what worsened my skin. Yes, its the Tarte Maracuja Oil that I applied on my face directly caused all problems. It was so good to use for my under eyes along with the tarte eye cream. I read some reviews where people raved about it and claiming its safe for use on face. Maybe it didn’t suit me. It gave the worst acne breakout of my life.  Earlier, you take a look at my bare face, The only problem I faced was my hereditary ‘dark undereye circles rather hollows’. Now, I got red spots around my cheek area on both sides. Also the chilling weather in Auckland made my skin very dehydrated. I decided to change my skincare routine.

Take a look at the breakouts I have after using tarte maracuja oil directly on my face.IMG_2485

It was not an easy task, I had to research a lot about the problem/skin condition I am facing and I was in search of products designed to treat the problems associated with that type. I am telling you a little piece of information that  I found while doing my research, For e.g, if you have oily skin, you’re likely to be dealing with breakouts, blackheads and blemishes and you’ll want products that will mattify your skin. On the other hand if you have dry skin then you’ll want to establish a routine which is ultra-hydrating and nourishing. If you have combination skin you’ll need to have products in your beauty arsenal which will tackle two problems at once – dryness and oiliness – where as sensitive skin types will need to pay close attention to the ingredients in their products.

I heard a lot about trilogy, trilogy rose hip oil products and I decided to check the product range. Being a rose fragrance lover myself, I decided to give it a try. Rates were also reasonable for my liking and I was planning to place an order. Now, the magical part, That afternoon I received a mail from trilogy PR asking my interest in reviewing their products. Wow, I was overwhelmed. When I had already done my research on- I send her my list of suggestions and on the same evening I received this super cute bag full of trilogy products. It came at a right time when all my skincare products were emptied/more than half emptied etc. I decided to give this a try and check my skin condition for a month. I have already taken a before picture and I am planning to post week by week response of my skin after using these products. So, I would be reviewing all of these products in this post separately. This is going to be an introduction to trilogy post where I am sharing with you all what are these products.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer – NC45

I am a concealaholic! I have these stubborn dark shadows rather hollows underneath my eyes that make me addicted to concealers. If there is one makeup product in this world that I can’t live without – It’s probably a concealer. I always try different concealers (only high end ones that have more than 90 % positive reviews). I am a fan of MAC pro longwear concealer – reviewed here. However, I wanted a more everyday wear medium – full coverage concealer that is travel friendly too. That’s when I decided to go for MAC Studio Finish Concealer.
