Hello dearies….Hope you are enjoying Saturday!!!
I am extremely happy to introduce a new section on Makeupholic World.
Makeupholic World Beauty Lessons
Vol 1 : Concealing Under Eye Dark Circles

Dark Circle is every girl’s enemy…I have dark circles which is hereditary and I use ey creams to control it to some extend…Concealer is the most effective tool for hiding those stubborn dark under-eye circles.  There is much debate as to which color of concealer works best for cancelling out those unsightly circles.  If your circles are more blue-tinged, use a yellow based concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone.  This color masks the blue discoloration and brightens the skin.  If you have more brown colored circles, then use a peach or orange based concealer- 80% of all women fall under this category.

Using your ring finger, pat on a thin layer of concealer, paying close attention to the innermost corners, where many of us have dark shadows.  Keep patting and gently swiping until you have a smooth even layer over your dark circles.

Lets discuss today a step by step tutorial on how to conceal stubborn under eye dark circles.
Here is a list of products above which I used to conceal the dark circles under my eyes.
List of Products
  1. Any Under Eye Cream/Moisturiser
  2. NYX Orange Corrector
  3. Inglot Cream Concealer LC300 (For reference I am NC40 in MAC)
  4. MUA Pressed Powder Shade:02
Detailed Steps
  1. Apply any under eye cream and gently massage the area around your eyes using your ring finger…I used Biotique Almond Under Eye Cream.
  2. If you have stubborn dark circles like me, we need a corrector to neutralize the color before the application of concealer, You can use any corrector, I have used NYX Orange Corrector using a       q tip and then applied it evenly using my  concealer brush F60 from Sigma.
  3. Apply your concealer, rather than pasting it, just pat the concealer, I used Inglot LC300 onto your under eye area.  Keep patting and gently swiping until you have a smooth even layer over your dark circles Make sure you do this step very slowly as your eye area is very delicate.
  4. Set the concealer by applying some yellow powder or translucent powder or pressed powder. I have used MUA Pressed Powder :Shade:02; Its enough for daily wear…For Special Occasions, I use MAC Studio Fix….and you are done!!!!
Below is a Pictorial step by step instruction!!!

Thanks Renji. Very nice post. I have a small doubt. Does not the under eye cream make the lids oily.

    Renji Anooj · July 21, 2013 at 3:02 pm

not at all….an eye cream always moisturises your eye area well and helps concealer and corrector etc glides on easily!!! I do agree to what u say…some creams make the shadows and concealer crease….But, Biotique almond Eye cream is very good in moisturising as well it prevents concealer creasing!!!!! 🙂

LOVED IT! Thanks for sharing. Dark circles are my main concern haha. I don’t think I can get the nyx corrector but I’ve seen many people using orange correctors. Do you think a matte cream orange shadow will work too? :-#

    Makeupholicworld · November 27, 2013 at 4:44 am

yes…i think yes it will work too…I have also seen many ppl using maybelline fierce and tangy color tattoo as well as orange lipstick
